After correct installation, when the IDM browser plugin is enabled, a [Download Artifact: Internet Download Manager 6.41.14 Green Special Edition (IDM)] icon will appear in the top right corner of YouTube videos (the icon in the figure below is the display after changing the settings).
Click the icon to see the different formats available for downloading the video.
Select one and click download.
